This directive regulates the conception and production of all lifting accessories. But what does this mean? Who is concerned? This article gives you all the answers.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Why a Machinery Directive?<\/h2>\n<p>The Machinery Directive 2006\/42\/EC aims to harmonize the health and safety requirements applicable to machinery and to guarantee their free circulation on the European Union market. It is mandatory in all member states and concerns manufacturers, importers and distributors of machines, including CODIPRO\u2019s lifting rings.<\/p>\n<h2>The requirements of the Machinery Directive 2006\/42\/CE<\/h2>\n<p>In order to comply with the Machinery Directive 2006\/42\/EC and therefore be approved, manufacturers of lifting rings must:<\/p>\n<p>a) ensure that they comply with the essential health and safety requirements<\/p>\n<p>b) ensure that the technical file is available<\/p>\n<p>c) make available the necessary information such as the instruction manual<\/p>\n<p>d) apply the relevant conformity assessment procedures<\/p>\n<p>e) draw up the EC declaration of conformity<\/p>\n<p>f) affix the CE marking.<\/p>\n<h2>The importance of CE marking<\/h2>\n<p>The CE marking and the CE declaration of conformity are essential. They are considered as a kind of \u201cpassport\u201d for products circulating on the European market. Only if machines, including CODIPRO\u2019s lifting rings, meet the criteria of the Directive, they can be engraved with the CE marking and declared to be in conformity with the Directive.<\/p>\n<h2>Machinery Directive vs. European standardization<\/h2>\n<p>The Machinery Directive 2006\/42\/EC is not the only text in force for the conception and production of lifting accessories.
